Lia’s passion for music was instilled at a young age. Born in Panama City, Panama, she grew up surrounded by a melting pot of musical styles. The city’s Salsa, Reggae, Congo, and Tipico influences merged with the Classical music that was part of her home life. Her father is the Conductor of the Panama National Symphonic Orchestra. As a kid, she would often participate in his concerts as a member of the child choir. Lia spent some time in Salvador, Brasil, where her mother was born. There she continued to integrate cultural experiences that helped shape her unique diverse style.

At age 14 she moved to Maui and attended King Kekaulike High School. After graduating, she auditioned for, and became a part of, a singing group called "Shuga". The group released a Urban/Pop EP and performed all over Maui and O'ahu. They sold out venues such as Hapa's, Pipeline Cafe, and Kaponos! When the group split up, Lia continued as a solo act and recorded a promotional album called "Breaking Sonido". The album was a mix of Hip Hop, R&B and Reggaeton, with Lia doing both singing and rapping. She extensively performed throughout L.A. at places like The Rumba Room in Universal City Walk, House of Blues on the Sunset Strip, and vault 350 in Long Beach. Lia had the privilege to open for artists such as Pitbull, Zion and Punta Cartel. While living in Los Angeles, she continued to develop her style by attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood and taking part in the weekly live performance workshops(LPWs) with the Wednesday reggae LPW being her favorite. At M.I. she studied music recording, music business, and media. She also developed proficiency in performance choreography and costume design.

After her return to the islands, Lia started recording music and performing all over Maui. She she released a handful of singles and which got airplay on radio stations all over Hawai’i.Songs like “Step it Up” featuring Chisa and writing collaborations such as “It Can’t Get Better Than This” hit the top of the charts after their release.
After releasing original al music, she was invited to perform at The Maui Arts and Cultural Center to open for acts such as UB40 and Common Kings. She has also been featured in many festivals and benefit concerts such as The Maui Brewfest, the KWXX Ho’olaulea in Hilo, and the KCCN Aloha Bash on Oahu.
From time to time, Lia sings lead for iDrive, a Top 40’s band out of Lanai that plays at private and corporate events. In her many gigs throughout the islands, she has shared the stage with the likes of Henry Kapono, Mick Fleetwood, Steven Tyler and more. She also does work as a studio singer. She was a ghost writer in Marty Dreads “Surfer Girl” track, where she wrote and sung a verse in Portuguese. Other studio credits include arranging and singing harmonies on local singer Anuhea’s “Sweet Thing” cover.

Other credits include being nominated for Maui Times Best Female Entertainer in 2023, and being a DJ for Maui’s top reggae station, The World Famous Q103.
After the Maui fires devastated the biggest town on Maui, work in the islands dwindled, so Lia decided to made a move to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world!
Lia Live is currently booking shows in Las Vegas at venues like the Sand Dollar Lounge in Downtown Town, and she is excited to dive into the festival circuit. She’s also been focusing on recording and releasing new material with her new band, The Bandidos. in the genres of Roots Reggae and Dancehall en Español. Her latest singles are Reggae Cumbia, a Spanglish Remix of Selena’s Techno Cumbia, and Stand Strong featuring Messenjah Selah, a positive anthem reminding us to have strength in the face of adversity.
